| For the first time Subculture spans both Friday and Saturday in the first weekend December, with an entire evening of live acts in the Sub Club. Detroit's Octave One headline with support from Cape Town ex-pat Esa & Mervin Granger and local talent Milton Jackson OCTAVE ONE:The brothers have released groundbreaking underground dance anthems on their own Detroit based label 430 West records. These realeases include Randon Noise Generation's "Falling in Dub" (the other Burden brother moniker), DJ Rolando's "Jaguar", Aux 88's "My A.U.X Mind" (on the 430 West sister label Direct Beat) as well as their own Octave One recordings "Empower", "Nicolette", "The X Files", "Meridian" and "Siege". Since 1990, the Burden brothers have released over one hundred records. 2000 brought the biggest Octave One release to date "Blackwater". The track has appeared on over thirty compilation albumsworldwide and has been a favourite on the decks of some of the worlds best known DJs Jeff Mills, Ritchie Hawtin, Kevin Saunderson, Derrick May, Jonathan Peters, Laurent Garnier among many others. "Blackwater" became a new turning point for the brothers. Late 2006 brought the realease of the first full legnth DVD/CD project from the group. Octave One featuring Randon Noise Generation "Off the Grid" released in cooperation with Tresor Records, Germany. In February 2011, Octave One prepare for the realease of their special album marking 20 years of living the Techno lifestyle. "Revisit" features some of electronic music's best producers, reworking 01 classics. Luke Slater, Sandwell District, Ken Ishil, Alexander Kowalski, Vince Watson, Ellen Allien and Cari Lekenbusch. Set for release on Octave One's very own 430 West Records. "Revisit" is a milestone in the career of one of Detroit Techno's best bands. Joining Octave One will be Esa & Mervin Granger and Milton Jackson. Esa & Mervin Granger may be more familiar to you as simply Esa Williams, playing around Glasgow at Subculture, Sunday Circus and Sensu parties for quite some time now. This year Esa released his Rememory Music project through RubaDub Records, resulting in his first 300 press run of Dissect series selling out and catching the attention of Mixmag. This will be Esa& Mervin Grangers debut live set. Promising to make the first Subculture Live event a memorable one.
