Well folks its almost that time again...
Another year has flown past and what an amazing year its been for the Melting Pot team. With sell out shows featuring some of the world's finest disco jockeys including Danny Krivit, Greg Wilson, Darkstar, Todd Terje, I-F, Tim Sweeney and Mark E, not forgetting two Rizla Riverboat Shuffles upon the grand dame Waverly, 2010 has certainly been one of the best yet.
So to round off a rather superb 12 months and ring in 2011 they have strived to bring you yet another stunning line up for what will surely be the best Melting Pot party of the entire year. A tall order you might think because the standard has been seriously high all year. However they have indeed chosen two fantastically talented guest DJs who are more than up to the challenge!
DJ COSMO:Since moving from New York to London around 2000 Cosmo has continued to build a reputation as a DJ of some note – with the all encompassing New York mindset of DJing with no limits, playing good music, no matter the style or genre, as long as it works on the floor and not being a slave to the beat.
Cosmo is also part of the promotion team that has established the quarterly London Loft parties with David Mancuso – in her days back in New York she was one of a very few people ever to have the privilege to play regularly at The Loft, she was also one of the few guests to play at the seminal Body & Soul nights alongside Joe Claussell, Francois K, and Danny Krivit. Indeed, she in held in such high regard by Francois K that she is one of the few DJs he trusts to play the entire night at his weekly Deep Space residency in New York.
Not content with promoting, DJing and hosting radio shows that are syndicated across the globe, Cosmo also runs her own record label Bitches Brew and has been producing some superb records under the Wild Rumpus alias, which have also featured mixes from Rub n Tug and Prins Thomas. More recently she has hooked up with Ashley Beedle and formed a production / DJ team called Darkstarr. They rocked our birthday party this year, and their remixes, particularly of Mavis’ Revolution, have had regular plays at Melting Pot.

http://darkstarr.tumblr.com/Cottam:Cottam has been spinning other peoples’ records from the age of 14. After ‘borrowing’ his brothers 80s soul and early hip hop he discovered house music and was hooked. Clubbing in the north through his teens, as acid became rave became progressive; DJs like Dave Clarke introduced him to harder techno and electro, a love that still lasts to this day with DJs like surgeon and the black country crew introducing dubstep into their sets. After so long loving the music and tinkering with his own ideas, 2009 saw his first house experiments emerge, often re-working soul and hip hop tracks. The first limited edition COTTAM 12” was released in September 2009 to a rapturous reception gaining record of the week status at Phonica, Rub-a-Dub and Piccadilly in the UK – with the forth in the series out now.
